plan of action... I think.

I believe I've decided which route to take for college now. I've been in limbo for a few years. Believe it or not, this is the SHORTENED version.

Plan A was... communication disorders. Off to SDSU for a B.S. degree in Communication Disorders, then continue to graduate school for the Doctorate of Audiology. Graduate school alone would take 4 years, plus moving out of state. (10 years of school, and no time for a job, and a leaving my family, and out of state tuition, oh my!) Half way through Plan A, I realize I don't like SDSU's program and I reconsider my whole career goals... (do I REALLY want to be a workoholic audiologist?)

No thanks Plan A.

Plan B... child development. I'll finish my degree in child development! Apply to the child development program at SDSU, start that up... no big deal. I'll be done in no time. Oh, but of course, SDSU's child development program is impacted. I spend a year taking tons of courses at a community college again to get into the impacted major of child development. How's that for a blow to the ego... being a senior in college in freshman community college courses. It'll be worth it... right? I'll have my degree and can become a preschool director one day. After a year, I make it into the impacted major! Woohoo!

Little do I know... they changed the whole program while I was taking my year completing lower division requirements. I make it half way through the first semester and - oh dear - this program stinks. Regroup!

See ya later Plan B.

Two years later, I'm revisiting Plan A and Plan B. I could go Plan A once again and finish my degree in about 2 semesters (if I was full time). Well, maybe Plan B will be better? Oh, but wait, SDSU ruined my courses and unit system when they changed all their entire program. Plan B will require started from the veeeery beginning. Is that really what I want? Do I REALLY want to be a preschool director?

Oh boy.

PLAN C!
The new and improved plan of action. After much deliberation... I figure, if I'm starting from scratch, I am going into something I love. We can all thank my dad for putting yet another idea in my head. Now, I decided I'll finish my degree at CSU San Bernardino in English, on a Creative Writing track. Some people know writing has been a love of mine for many, many years. CSUSB has an English undergrad program that prepares you for your single subject credential, and to top it off... it waives the CSET English requirement and guarantees you a placement in any teacher credential program! Wow! I read, pondered, talked it over with Patrick, pondered some more, talked it over with my Dad, looked at the website some more, talked it over with Patrick again, thought some more, talked to God about it, checked out the website-again, talked to my mom about it. Yeah, you can see where this goes! In the end, I decided this is the perfect path. I can finally work towards my love of writing, have the option of staying home with the boys if I so choose, and I can also have ANOTHER option of having my teaching credential to be an English teacher.

Woohoo! So that's that. :)

English and writing... I can't seem to stay away from you in all my college years... gee, out of my WHOLE LIFE I can't seem to get away from the love of writing... so why not flow with it? :)

It's crunch time.

Okay everybody... Thursday is almost here. Please say lots of prayers for us between now and Thursday morning. Only a little over 24 hours to go. Just pray this mess is CLEARED UP!!!

If you have no clue what I'm talking about... just keep our family in your thoughts & prayers, and say a little extra something for us between now and Thursday. No need to go into details, just lift a little something up, and I'll explain it all another day.

Wave Shushybye and Goodnight!

Now how cute is that?! If only I can get a video of him dancing...

Oh, and AJ was watching it a couple nights ago in my lap, and even AJ totally started this little Shushbye happy baby dance... haha! Not even 5 months old and he was totally rocking out to the "Oh My My Shushybye"... and where was my camera?! CHARGING!! AHHH!! At least Patrick and I got to see it and get a huge kick out of it. :) Next time I'll get a video, I hope!!

Trip out!!

Tonight I went to my first little Open House for a Stampin' Up demo, hosted by a very sweet lady named Heather! I had a blast! It was SOOO nice to get out of the house and spend some time with ADULTS!! Not to mention the gals that were there were SO incredibly sweet and funny.. I couldn't have asked for a better time! I can't wait to do it again next month.

I come home, and am standing in the kitchen chit chatting with Patrick about my night, when my mom calls over asking if the Sheriff was outside our house! "Sheriff?! What?!" -- Now if you all know what's been happening lately for us, you know the word "Sheriff" equals panic moment! She laughs, says it isn't about us, but my dad just got a call from our neighbor regarding my parent's property down the road. Somebody was just down at their property and stealing their trailer!! My dad drives down to the property, which is just down the road... you can see it from our spot here... as he is on the phone with the sheriff reporting this, he circles around and these theives steal THE OTHER TRAILER!! Right under his nose!! Can you believe that?!

I peak outside our house and see my dad is outside our place talking to the Sheriff. Before you know it, they are bringing in the Copper Chopper and circling around our house with the big spot light and down the road at the other property looking for this trailer theif. Patrick and I are watching from the front porch. We see this white truck driving on the road the property is on, the truck suddenly turns around, the chopper puts the big beaming spotlight on the truck and starts following the truck. The truck turns around again, this time onto the County dirt field!! Yeah, smooth move exlax.. make yourself look more guilty by suddenly turning down a dirt road. The Sheriff speeds off with his lights on from our house down the road, another Sheriff car pulls up behind him with his lights on. Truck pulls over, and all we can see now is lights because is it is so dark.

My dad comes storming out of his house... in Pat's words, he's never seen him look so mad (lol!) I think he drove down there ready to sucker punch someone (if the cops weren't there that is...) Some time passes, we see the cops drive away, then come back, but the truck was left there. Our guess happened to be true: they arrested the guy(s) doing this, left the truck down there while the theives took them to where the trailers were.

Trailer number one was hidden at the person's house, and trailer number 2 turned out to be hidden in the county dirty lot directly across from the property, which is why they hid it so quickly after my dad drove there.

Patrick and Dad just went and got the 2nd trailer now, the sheriff followed him to our place while they dropped it off with the arrested guy in the back of the car (HAH! SUCKER!). Of course now they second guess that the guy knows where we live... but, right back in his face, because since the first trailer is hid at his house, we'll know wherhe e lives too. So if they dare try anything with us... we know where they live... mwhaha!

Stuck in a rut

  1. Wake up with AJ all hours of the night.
  2. Get up with Adam at 7AM when he wakes
  3. Put my coffee on, wake myself up
  4. Elijah gets up
  5. Make breakfast
  6. Listen to AJ whine and cry (probably because he's getting sleepy again)
  7. Put AJ down for nap and 30-40 min later, wake back up
  8. Listen to Elijah whine and cry because the toy isn't doing JUST what he wants it to do
  9. Repeat number 6.
  10. Repeat number 8.
  11. Make lunch
  12. Naps for both
  13. Clean up from lunch
  14. Hope the boys sleep longer than 40 minutes simultaneously. By the time I'm done cleaning up from lunch, dishes put away.. AJ tries to wake again. I must coax him back to sleep, or quickly get him out of the room so Eli hopefully stays asleep.
  15. Both boys up again.
  16. Repeat number 6
  17. Repeat number 8
  18. Repeat number 6
  19. Repeat number 8
  20. Make dinner, while repeating number 8 (this time because my full attention is not on Elijah).
  21. Eat dinner.
  22. Bath, given by me or Patrick while the other gets dishes put away, kitchen cleaned up.
  23. Repeat number 6
  24. AJ to bed
  25. Repeat number 8, because he doesn't want to get his PJs on
  26. Watch Shushybye Baby with Elijah ("Shushybye and Goodnight!")
  27. Put Elijah to bed, a task that can take anywhere from 15 minutes, usually 30, or even an hour.
  28. Repeat all numbers.
If I really feel adventurous, I'll take both the boys to the store after they get up from napping.

Edit - I hate sounding like a whiner. So I took out my whininess part of this post and just leave it at my daily routine... haha :)
